The May/June issue of Legal Assistant Today has a very favorable review of CaseWORTH 2.0. The full page review, by Mary Girsch-Bock appears on page 34 of the print issue and is available online here.

Ms. Girsch-Bock describes some of the new features of version2.0 including the ability to attach scanned medical records to a file, the Medical Treatment Notes dialog for entering attorney/staff notes, summarized treatment plans or expert/nurse practicioner notes. She goes on to mention that CaseWORTH’s design allows you to enter as much — or as little — information as needed for an individual case. She also notes the ability to sort the medical treatment summary report chronologically and the addition, in 2.0 of timed saves.

The reviewer praises CaseWORTH’s easy to navigate user interface. She also mentions it’s use of colorful buttons to access the separate data entry and analysis sections of the program. She says “CaseWorth is easy to use with an intuitive interface.”

A more detailed rundown of using the “Case Evaluation Wizard” follows. The reviewer then explains how you can enter Claimant Info, Medical Expenses, Liens, Subrogation Payments, Firm Expenses into CaseWORTH. She then describes the “Economist Wizard” and and how it allows you to determine the value of future losses and medical expenses and reduce them to present value. The Math Worksheet that displays the calculations of the data entered is mentioned as well as the Settlement Calculator that shows both the actual totals and allows for “what-if” scenario adjustments to assist in gaining a more favorable settlement.

CaseWORTH’s instructional videos are mentioned including one that show how to enter an entire (simple) client file in fifteen minutes. It is noted that more complex cases will, of course, take longer but CaseWORTH’s design “takes much of the complexity out of entering this information”.

Ms. Girsch-Bock says “You can produce excellent reports in CaseWORTH 2.0″. She features the Damage Package Report and it’s included Damage Summary, noting the Damage Summary is a recap of information entered into the program including expense list, past and future earnings and miscellaneous expenses. She also notes the Damage Package Report details other damages such as future medical expenses and future earnings loss. The Settlement Statement is also described as a breakdown of the disbursement of the settlement and the Medical Treatment Summary as a breakdown of treatments, CPT and ICD-9 codes as well as amounts billed.

The reviewer concludes with ” Affordably priced, CaseWorth 2.0 will make your professional life more organized and much easier.” and gives the following evaluation in the sidebar:

Pros: CaseWorth 2.0 is easy to use and can organize even the largest stack of paperwork into a professionally polished presentation. Easy to navigate, CaseWorth 2.0 also comes with a variety of training videos so users will be comfortable with the program in minutes.

Cons: None.

Verdict: With CaseWorth, you not only eliminate the need for massive paper files, but you centralize all of your information in one area. Priced within reach of even the smallest firm, CaseWorth will have you wondering how you ever survived without it..

WORTHMORE SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF CASEWORTH VERSION 2.0
Legal Software Provider Ships New Edition of Financial Case Management Software
for Personal Injury Law Firms

January 18, 2008 – Fayetteville, AR…Arkansas-based WorthMORE Software today announced the release of CaseWORTH™ Version 2.0, the second edition of their flagship software which allows personal injury medical malpractice, social security and worker’s compensation attorneys to efficiently manage the financial data aspects of their cases.
Personal injury matters require lawyers and paralegals to manage and track enormous quantities of financial information such as medical bills, medical records, provider and insurance payment information, as well as client’s lost personal expenses (i.e. lost income and potential earnings.) For every settlement meeting, the paralegal has to gather bills, numbers and create summaries, which is a cumbersome process when done manually. This manual work must be performed again each time new case information becomes available. CaseWORTH allows legal teams to easily enter, organize and track their personal injury case information. Changes from new case information are immediately reflected on all summaries and reports. CaseWORTH has built-in calculators and reports to analyze the potential of the case, and aid in negotiating for a settlement advantageous to the client. CaseWORTH even prints a Settlement Statement ready for the client to sign CaseWORTH 2.0 includes several new features including document management of scanned medical records as well as medical bills, and the ability to attach those records to specific service dates. Version 2.0 also allows users to print a Medical Treatment Timeline report, enter medical treatment notes, and easily create complicated reports that are useful in court and communication with opposing counsel, such as Sanitized Treatment and Medical Treatment Summary reports.
Highlights of CaseWORTH 2.0 New Features:
• Document management of scanned medical records, including ability to copy or move scanned files
into a portable CaseWORTH file. This puts the financial details and supporting documentation at the attorney’s fingertips in depositions, mediations, negotiations and at trial.
• Ability to attach scanned medical records to service dates
• Sanitized Treatment Summary report, which is scrubbed of confidential data and can be shared with opposing counsel or at court
• Medical Treatment Timeline report which details the client’s medical treatment history
• Four new Notes dialogs for tracking Medical Treatment: Sanitized Medical Treatment Notes, Attorney Notes, Staff Notes and Expert/Nurse Practitioner Notes
• Automatic timed saves to prevent data loss
• Multiple version retention – keep 10 or more previous versions as backup

Pricing
CaseWORTH is priced by annual subscription rate of $200 per year, which entitles the customer to 2 PC
licenses of the product. Additional PC licenses can be added for $90/year each. These rates include all upgrades and service fixes as they become available, as well as 1 hour of telephone technical support perlicense.

Technical Specifications and Integrations
CaseWORTH can run either standalone from the desktop or on a network. The product integrates with Microsoft Office Word and Excel products (up to Office 2007) and runs on Microsoft Windows (98 through Vista). The product is capable of integrating with several case management systems and document management systems with minor configuration.

About WorthMORE Software and CaseWORTH
WorthMORE Software was founded in 2003 as a subsidiary of GrayLint Enterprises which was incorporated by Robert Gray and Scot Linton in 1997. In their work as legal technology consultants, Gray and Linton recognized a gap in what personal injury practice management software provided: the ability to do the financial calculations, projections and reporting that are required for personal injury cases. They started WorthMORE Software where they specifically designed CaseWORTH to assist personal injury attorneys during their cases. WorthMORE released CaseWORTH Version 1.0 in March 2006 and its built-in Personal Injury Settlement Calendar option quickly became one of the product’s major selling points. The product is currently installed in many law firms throughout the United States. For more information, visit

 TROLLING THE EXHIBITS

In search of non-EDD products at LegalTech, I unearthed a very handy and cost-effective tool for personal injury lawyers. Caseworth version 2.0 allows personal injury lawyers to manage the enormous quantity of financial information for personal injury, medical malpractice, Social Security and workers’ compensation cases.

CaseWorth tracks medical expenses, records, bills and other damages and expenses and documents negotiation with insurance companies and medical providers. In addition, it substantiates and calculates future lost income and medical expenses, reducing them to present value without the aid of a calculator or expert economist. Finally, in the click of a mouse, you can generate reports and analyze a case’s potential and negotiate for your client a settlement that includes hard facts and supporting documents.

CaseWorth’s settlement calculator and reports are available for a $200 annual fee. If your law firm does personal injury law, this is a must-see.
