CaseWORTH is a Case Management System (CMS) for tracking the financial details in a personal injury, medical malpractice, workers comp or social security case. CaseWORTH can track medical expenses, subrogation payments, lost earnings, firm expenses, burial expenses and so on. CaseWORTH also can project Future Lost Earnings and Future Medical Expenses with automatic Reduction to Present Value – without hiring an economist.
CaseWORTH is not just a fancy calculator. CaseWORTH uses the framework of the money you track in the case to provide a structured place to manage important case details. Since these details are directly tied to the related expenses they conveniently fall to hand as you discuss the numbers with the opposing party.
Track scanned documents (medical bills, medical records, tax returns, receipts, negotiation documents, etc.). Enter Medical Treatment Notes and create a Medical Treatment Timeline or a more detailed Medical Treatment Summary report.
Use the highly configurable Damage Package Report to share all the sanitized details you choose with the opposing party. Add your own cover letter and fill the adjuster with anxiety about how well prepared you are with your first shot across the bow.
Use the Settlement Calculator to instantly see the firm and claimant net for any potential settlement amount. Once a settlement has been reached, negotiate with every medical provider and any subrogation sources to maximize your client’s final net. When you have done all you can for the client print a Settlement Statement showing all the disbursement details and give it to the client to sign.

What kind of lawyers/firms will benefit from using CaseWORTH?
CaseWORTH is a perfect fit for any firm, large or small, that handles plaintiff personal injury cases. A solo attorney who takes on an occasional PI case will find CaseWORTH easy enough to use just when they need it. A large firm working many personal injury cases each month will see CaseWORTH help get the best possible settlement for their client quickly. Firms that work long-term cases need a system that can track and make sense of lots of detail. CaseWORTH ties the details to the money so it is easy to drill in to find answers quickly.
Defense firms defend a case by doing much of the same prep work as the plaintiff side. To mount a good defense you must have a good understanding of all the finances and easy access to the details. The Medical Treatment Notes and Summary features allow a defense firm to build easily a medical chronology – something most do for every case. The Subrogation Adjustment feature allows a defense firm to call out specific invalid treatment expenses that will be disallowed.
A medical chronology is crucial in a Medical Malpractice case. Med Mal requires depositions with doctors with questions driven by the work of an expert picking apart the medical bills and records. The CaseWORTH Medical Treatment Notes and Summary report, along with instant access to any scanned medical bill or record, makes CaseWORTH invaluable in these depositions.
All these same features make CaseWORTH useful in a Workers Compensation or Social Security case.

What makes CaseWORTH different from other products?
CaseWORTH is Case Management System (CMS) rather than a Practice Management System (PMS). Unlike a PMS, CaseWORTH does not try to run your whole office. CaseWORTH is an inexpensive, easy to learn, tool that you can use on some or all of your cases.
With effort, lots of PMS can be forced to track some ‘totals’. For example, you can enter total medicals billed, subrogation paid and it might even subtract and tell you how much is due. But that requires you to track and total all the bills with your calculator and falls far short of creating even a detailed disbursement report, much less the many other valuable reports available in CaseWORTH.
Unlike a complex, feature bloated PMS, CaseWORTH is a powerful, highly specialized tool that does one job very well. CaseWORTH makes it easy for you to track important details and give you the answers you need to make the opposition squirm.
CaseWORTH tracks any level of detail you feel you need to win each individual case. Even if you choose to track the bare minimum – just totals for example, CaseWORTH still provides valuable time saving reports. Not the least of which is Settlement Statement ready for the client to sign.
It is easy to track additional detail for a more involved case because CaseWORTH is designed to let you attach details directly to the money you see onscreen. CaseWORTH is all about the money. You are already entering all the money somewhere and dealing with the math. You use Excel, a Word table, or maybe just your calculator. It takes no more time to enter that money in CaseWORTH. From that point on CaseWORTH will handle the math for you. When more medical bills come in, simply enter the new information and all the totals will be automatically updated – on screen, in the reports. The Settlement Calculator is updated to show the new, current firm and claimant net for any existing settlement offer.
You also already are doing the work to create a medical treatment chronology, but you are doing that work separately in yet another program. CaseWORTH allows you to leverage the time you have already spent entering the charges by giving you a time/money based framework to enter these additional details. Attach scanned medical bills right to the line where you entered the charges. Attach related medical records to that same line. With a click, you see the actual bill or medical records while you are discussing the numbers with the adjuster. Enter medical treatment notes to share with opposing counsel in a sanitized chronological Medical Treatment Summary report. Separately track your own notes and your expert’s notes and print an internal Medical Treatment Summary report that will be invaluable in depositions and at trial.
CaseWORTH allows you to pull all the work you are already doing into a single easy to use program. The program provides a structured place to enter, and find, all the financial details and case information you need to mold the adjuster’s perception of the case. CaseWORTH users tell us this translates to getting bigger settlements faster.
The points above all have to do with medical expenses, but CaseWORTH is much more. Take control of the financial and case details for Subrogation Payments, Lost Earnings, Burial Expenses, Firm Expenses and more.
CaseWORTH also is unique in its ability to project Future Lost Earnings and Future Medical Expenses with Reduction to Present Value. Print an amortization style report with annual details of the future amounts and the present value. Let the adjuster wonder if you actually hired an economist for first round negotiations.
All the money you track in CaseWORTH flows to the Damage Summary, then on to the Settlement Calculator. Track settlement demand/offer history and instantly see the firm and claimant net for any potential settlement amount. Use the What If Calculator to see the outcome of different scenarios taking negotiations with all parties into account.

How does CaseWORTH integrate with other products?
Many firms use CaseWORTH as a stand alone tool, but it is designed to work with other Practice Management and Document Management systems.
Since CaseWORTH is a CMS there is no shared information between cases (except a global list of medical providers). This allows each CaseWORTH case to be stored in a file (like a Word document) rather than in a centralized database. This means a CaseWORTH case file can be attached to any PMS that includes a document management system. Use your PMS to track your contacts, cases, calendar and so on as normal. Use your case records in your PMS as you always have. When you want to see the financial details or supporting documentation for a case, just open the attached CaseWORTH case file like you would any Word or Excel file.
Every PMS is different so how CaseWORTH integrates with each is also different. But if your PMS supports attached documents then it will work with CaseWORTH.
There is also a link built especially for the WORLDOX Enterprise Document Management System. This link allows a firm with WORLDOX to save CaseWORTH cases directly into the WORLDOX system and query the system to find a CaseWORTH case file.
We have recently made arrangements with several Practice Management Software (PMS) vendors to develop direct data links with their products. We are working hard to make these ready for release. We will offer these, and additional PMS data links as they become available. Use CaseWORTH with your PMS today and benefit from the attached document feature that has always been in CaseWORTH. Please let us know which software you are using because we are trying to implement the data links in order of greatest interest.

How quickly will my staff be productive with CaseWORTH?
CaseWORTH is very easy to learn and simple to use. A typical mid-sized firm purchase goes like this. Someone at the firm sees the demo then someone calls with a credit card. We take the order and they have the download information and their license key that same day. The training starts with 5 videos on the training page of the website. All 5 videos take a total of one hour to watch. One hour is perfect for a staff pizza lunch and learn. After spending only that one hour the staff will be able to go to their desks and start creating useful case files. As you use the product you will find a Video Help button on each CaseWORTH tab. If you get stuck on a specific feature click to watch a short video that explains everything you need to know about that tab.
You can purchase and be productive with CaseWORTH in one single day. Remember this is not a complex PMS that takes thousands of configuration and training dollars and months to learn. After watching the videos you are welcome to contact our support staff if you have any questions. You get one hour of free support per license with your subscription.

What does the future hold for CaseWORTH?
CaseWORTH users are very passionate about the product. Many are paralegals that are doing all this work manually already. CaseWORTH still requires data to be entered, but once the information is in, it self organizes and updates the math as new entries are made. The reports save the paralegal considerable time and effort so it is no surprise that they love it. We honestly have had two different paralegals tell us they told their boss they would quit if they didn’t buy CaseWORTH for them.
This passion leads to many suggestions from users on ways to make the program even better. We have just released version 2 that includes a number of features that came directly from user requests. Of course we also have our own ideas on where to take the product. We have many exciting new features on the drawing board for the next version. Whether the ideas come from our users or our own team, we will work to save our users time, help them get more control of the money and details and most importantly lead the law firm to bigger profits and happy clients.
